Can you pay for tattoos in most tattoo shops with American Express giftcards?

I got an American Express gift card for christmas, and i'm tired of shopping for clothes, so i figured if i could, i'd get another tattoo with it... does anyone know if you can? I'm not sure how tattoo shops feel about using them

Most shops take credit cards these days. I paid for some of my piercings with my American Express giftcard last year and all they had to do was run it through the credit card machine.

Call the place and ask so you know for sure.
